Actualización 20.3.2026: así que empaquetamos sus maletas y nos dirigimos a una muy lejana parte de Creta. Por Irma, haríamos cualquier cosa. La inspección en casa no pasó la prueba, así que tuvimos que llevarla de vuelta con nosotros. Pasamos muchas horas juntos ese día y aprendimos mucho de ella. Verán, Irma era una máquina de reproducción, utilizada para nada más que producir otros Dobermanns. Es un perro nervioso con muchos desencadenantes que la llevaban a un frenesí, intentando morder su cola. En el refugio logramos controlar ese hábito. Ese día fuera del refugio disfrutó del viaje en coche, amó la sensación de tener un hogar, estaba muy interesada en pasear por el pueblo y mostró un lado muy tierno y conectado de sí misma. Algo que no habíamos tenido la oportunidad de experimentar en el refugio. Desafortunadamente, la persona interesada no fue un buen ajuste para ella. Sus problemas delicados no eran una prioridad para ellos, así que tuvimos que rechazar la adopción. Pero nos rompió el corazón volverla a llevar a casa. Irma es una chica mayor amable que realmente sufre en el refugio. Disfrutó su salida ese día y deseamos que encuentre un humano tierno que la escuche y se ocupe de sus necesidades. Actualización 26.06.2024: Irma es un Doberman de raza pura, nació en noviembre de 2016. Su historia: Fue encontrada en Malaxa este verano, corriendo con calor de 35 grados y sufriendo de agotamiento por calor. Parece que fue utilizada para criar cachorros y cuando obtuvieron una nueva hembra para reemplazarla, la arrojaron. Desde entonces ha sido esterilizada. Irma tiene leishmaniosis. Por supuesto, recibe su medicación. Aquí puede leer sobre la leishmaniosis. Esta enfermedad solo se transmite mediante una mosquito de arena. Irma también tiene un problema de ansiedad donde persigue su trasero y gruñe, pero estamos trabajando en eso con remedios naturales. No es agresiva hacia los humanos. Los ama y la atención de ellos. ¡Ella ama SU PELOTA! Nunca tuvo la oportunidad de ser un cachorro, así que ahora nos está dando un cachorro, tan tierno. Es un poco torpe cuando se trata de caricias, pero le encanta. Pobre chica nunca tuvo cariño antes. Adopta a esta hermosa criatura hoy. Update 20.3.2026: so we packed her bags and set off for a very distant part of Crete. For Irma, we would do anything! The housecheck did not pass the test so we had to bring her back with us. We spent many hours together that day and learned a lot from her. You see Irma was a breeding machine, used for nothing more than producing other Dobermans. She is a nervous dog with many triggers which would send her into a frenzy, attempting to bite her tail. At the shelter we had gotten that habit under control. That day out from the shelter she enjoyed the car ride, she loved the feel of a home, she was so interested in walking through the village and she showed a very gentle and connected side of herself. Something we had not had the chance to experience at the shelter. Unfortunately, the person interested was not a match for her. Her delicate issues were not a priority to them so we had to deny the adoption. But it broke our hearts bringing her back home. Irma is a kind senior girl who truly suffers at the shelter. She loved her getaway that day and we wish she will find a gentle human who will listen and cater to her needs. She loves to play ball and loves her treats, of course. Her story: She was found up in Malaxa this summer, running in 35 degree weather with heat exhaustion. It seems that she was used for breeding babies and when they got a new female to replace her, she was thrown out. She has been neutered since. Irma has leishmania. Of course, she gets her medication. Irma also has an anxiety issue where she chases her bum and growls but we are working on that with natural remedies. She is not aggressive towards humans. She loves them and their attention! SHE LOVES HER BALL. She never had a chance to be a puppy, and so she is giving us puppy now, so cute! She is a bit awkward when it comes to cuddles but she loves it!
