Grote, zachte Normand is een gevoelige jongen die het leuk vindt om aandacht te krijgen en buikkrabjes. Hij houdt van menselijke gezelschap en kruipen op de bank. Zijn voogdjes beschrijven hem als "een grote zachtekeet, zodra hij met je is gebonden." Hij geniet van spelen met zachte en knersende speelgoed, wil met je een speeltje trekken en houdt ervan om ballen achterna te jagen. Norman geniet van zijn wandelingen in bossen, open velden of veilige hondenvelden. Hij bouwt zelfvertrouwen op in drukke locaties en is het goed met voorbijrijdend verkeer. Hoewel hij werkt aan zijn sociale hondvaardigheden, prefereert hij dat andere honden hem ruimte geven, want hij zorgt zich wanneer ze te dichtbij komen. Hij heeft geleerd een snuitje te dragen als vaardigheid, wat u rust geeft. Normand loopt meestal mooi aan de leiband. Zijn favoriete traktaties zijn kip, schmackos en squeezy kaas! Normand weet zitten, pootje en wachten. Na zijn wandelingen en speeltijd wil hij chillen en een dutje doen in zijn bed. Normand is een zesjarige Mastiff op zoek naar een liefdevol thuis. Hij kan zijn huis delen met kinderen van 14 jaar en ouder. Hij wil de enige hond in het huis zijn en heeft een huis nodig zonder katten of kleine velligen. Hij heeft geen geschiedenis met veestapel. Hij is direct vriendschappelijk tegen nieuwe mensen en blij met bezoek aan het huis. Hij kan omgaan met een redelijk drukke huishouden. Zodra Normand zich is ingeworteld in zijn nieuwe huis, kan de tijd alleen worden opgebouwd stap voor stap, met zijn voogd was hij fine voor een paar uur tegelijk. Normand is gehoortrained en goed met auto-rit.

If your idea of the perfect dog is affectionate, playful, gentle and always ready for a sofa snuggle, Norman might just be your boy. He absolutely loves affection and will happily soak up fuss, belly rubs and cuddles. When he isn’t snuggled up with his people, Norman enjoys playing with soft and squeaky toys, a good game of tug and chasing after a ball. He also loves enrichment activities, particularly his snuffle ball, and is always happy when his favourite treats – chicken, Schmackos or squeezy cheese – make an appearance! Norman enjoys getting out and about too. His favourite adventures are quieter walks through woodland and open fields, or trips to secure dog fields where he can relax, explore and enjoy the occasional Mastiff zoomie. He walks nicely on his lead, although the odd squirrel can understandably make things a little more exciting! Norman is still developing his confidence and social skills around other dogs and is happiest when they give him some space. His adopters will need to continue supporting him with this, but Norman responds brilliantly to calm reassurance, praise and treats and has learnt a helpful “this way” cue to move away and carry on with his walk. He has also been positively trained to wear a muzzle when out and about, giving his adopters another useful skill to help him enjoy his adventures comfortably. Norman really is a big, loveable softie looking for someone to give all that affection to. If you have space on your sofa and in your heart for a gentle giant, Norman could be your one-in-a-million companion. Norman is a gorgeous six-year-old Mastiff with a big heart and gentle nature. Currently living in a foster home, Norman has shown us what a wonderful companion he can be. He is housetrained, travels well in the car, settles beautifully at home and loves being part of family life. His foster carers describe him simply as “a big softie”, which sums him up perfectly. Norman could live with secondary school-aged children and is happy welcoming visitors into the home. He is looking to be the only pet, so will need a home without other dogs, cats or small furries. Norman loves company and would make a brilliant companion for someone who works from home, but he doesn’t need you by his side every minute of the day. In his foster home, he has been comfortable being left for a couple of hours at a time, and this could gradually be built up once he is settled into his new home. The best part of going out without him might just be coming home – Norman greets his foster carers with the happiest wiggles, bounces and excitement!
