Grand, doux Normand est un jeune homme sensible qui aime les attentions et les caresses sur le ventre. Il adore la compagnie humaine et se blottit sur le canapé. Ses familles d'accueil le décrivent comme « un grand tendre, une fois qu'il s'est lié à vous ». Il aime jouer avec des jouets doux et bruyants, il fera un jeu de traîne avec vous, et il aime courir après les balles. Normand apprécie ses promenades en forêt, dans les champs ouverts ou les terrains clos pour chiens. Il gagne en confiance dans les endroits animés, et il est à l'aise avec le trafic passant. Bien qu'il travaille sur ses compétences sociales avec les autres chiens, il préfère que les autres chiens lui laissent de l'espace car il peut s'inquiéter lorsqu'ils s'approchent trop. Il a appris à porter un cache-col comme une compétence, ce qui vous donne cette paix d'esprit. Généralement, Normand marche correctement en laisse. Ses friandises préférées sont le poulet, les schmackos et le fromage écrasé ! Normand connaît le assis, la patte et attendre. Après ses promenades et son jeu, il aime se reposer et faire une sieste dans son lit. Normand est un Mastiff de six ans qui cherche un foyer aimant. Il pourrait partager sa maison avec des enfants âgés de 14 ans ou plus. Il souhaite être le seul chien dans la maison et aura besoin d'un foyer sans chats ni petits rongeurs. Il n'a pas d'historique avec le bétail. Il est immédiatement amical avec les nouvelles personnes et heureux d'avoir des visiteurs à la maison. Il pourrait s'adapter à un foyer assez animé. Une fois que Normand se sent installé dans sa nouvelle maison, le temps passé seul peut être progressivement augmenté, avec sa famille d'accueil, il a été bien pendant quelques heures à la fois. Normand est propre et bon pour les voyages en voiture.

If your idea of the perfect dog is affectionate, playful, gentle and always ready for a sofa snuggle, Norman might just be your boy. He absolutely loves affection and will happily soak up fuss, belly rubs and cuddles. When he isn’t snuggled up with his people, Norman enjoys playing with soft and squeaky toys, a good game of tug and chasing after a ball. He also loves enrichment activities, particularly his snuffle ball, and is always happy when his favourite treats – chicken, Schmackos or squeezy cheese – make an appearance! Norman enjoys getting out and about too. His favourite adventures are quieter walks through woodland and open fields, or trips to secure dog fields where he can relax, explore and enjoy the occasional Mastiff zoomie. He walks nicely on his lead, although the odd squirrel can understandably make things a little more exciting! Norman is still developing his confidence and social skills around other dogs and is happiest when they give him some space. His adopters will need to continue supporting him with this, but Norman responds brilliantly to calm reassurance, praise and treats and has learnt a helpful “this way” cue to move away and carry on with his walk. He has also been positively trained to wear a muzzle when out and about, giving his adopters another useful skill to help him enjoy his adventures comfortably. Norman really is a big, loveable softie looking for someone to give all that affection to. If you have space on your sofa and in your heart for a gentle giant, Norman could be your one-in-a-million companion. Norman is a gorgeous six-year-old Mastiff with a big heart and gentle nature. Currently living in a foster home, Norman has shown us what a wonderful companion he can be. He is housetrained, travels well in the car, settles beautifully at home and loves being part of family life. His foster carers describe him simply as “a big softie”, which sums him up perfectly. Norman could live with secondary school-aged children and is happy welcoming visitors into the home. He is looking to be the only pet, so will need a home without other dogs, cats or small furries. Norman loves company and would make a brilliant companion for someone who works from home, but he doesn’t need you by his side every minute of the day. In his foster home, he has been comfortable being left for a couple of hours at a time, and this could gradually be built up once he is settled into his new home. The best part of going out without him might just be coming home – Norman greets his foster carers with the happiest wiggles, bounces and excitement!
