Grande e gentil Normando é um menino sensível que gosta de carinho e de esfregadelas na barriga. Ele adora a companhia humana e se aninha no sofá. Seus cuidadores temporários o descrevem como "um grande molequinho, uma vez que se tenha ligado a você". Ele gosta de brincar com brinquedos macios e barulhentos, vai jogar um jogo de puxa-puxa com você e gosta de correr atrás de bolas. Normando gosta de passear em áreas florestais, campos abertos ou áreas seguras para cães. Ele está ganhando confiança em locais movimentados e está ok com o tráfego passando. Embora ele esteja trabalhando em suas habilidades sociais caninas, ele prefere que outros cães lhe dêem espaço, pois ele pode se preocupar quando eles se aproximam demais. Ele aprendeu a usar uma coleira de contenção como uma habilidade, o que lhe dá essa tranquilidade. Normalmente, Normando caminha bem na coleira. Seus tratamentos favoritos são frango, schmackos e queijo soro! Normando sabe sentar, dar a patinha e esperar. Após seus passeios e tempo de brincadeira, ele gosta de relaxar e fazer uma soneca em sua cama. Normando é um Mastim de seis anos que procura um lar amoroso. Ele pode dividir seu lar com crianças a partir de 14 anos. Ele quer ser o único cachorro em casa e precisará de um lar sem gatos ou pequenos roedores. Ele não tem histórico com rebanhos. Ele é imediatamente amigável com pessoas novas e feliz em ter visitantes em casa. Ele pode lidar com uma casa razoavelmente movimentada. Uma vez que Normando se sinta instalado em sua nova casa, o tempo sozinho pode ser aumentado gradualmente, com seu cuidador temporário ele ficou bem por algumas horas por vez. Normando está acostumado com o banheiro e bom com viagens de carro.

If your idea of the perfect dog is affectionate, playful, gentle and always ready for a sofa snuggle, Norman might just be your boy. He absolutely loves affection and will happily soak up fuss, belly rubs and cuddles. When he isn’t snuggled up with his people, Norman enjoys playing with soft and squeaky toys, a good game of tug and chasing after a ball. He also loves enrichment activities, particularly his snuffle ball, and is always happy when his favourite treats – chicken, Schmackos or squeezy cheese – make an appearance! Norman enjoys getting out and about too. His favourite adventures are quieter walks through woodland and open fields, or trips to secure dog fields where he can relax, explore and enjoy the occasional Mastiff zoomie. He walks nicely on his lead, although the odd squirrel can understandably make things a little more exciting! Norman is still developing his confidence and social skills around other dogs and is happiest when they give him some space. His adopters will need to continue supporting him with this, but Norman responds brilliantly to calm reassurance, praise and treats and has learnt a helpful “this way” cue to move away and carry on with his walk. He has also been positively trained to wear a muzzle when out and about, giving his adopters another useful skill to help him enjoy his adventures comfortably. Norman really is a big, loveable softie looking for someone to give all that affection to. If you have space on your sofa and in your heart for a gentle giant, Norman could be your one-in-a-million companion. Norman is a gorgeous six-year-old Mastiff with a big heart and gentle nature. Currently living in a foster home, Norman has shown us what a wonderful companion he can be. He is housetrained, travels well in the car, settles beautifully at home and loves being part of family life. His foster carers describe him simply as “a big softie”, which sums him up perfectly. Norman could live with secondary school-aged children and is happy welcoming visitors into the home. He is looking to be the only pet, so will need a home without other dogs, cats or small furries. Norman loves company and would make a brilliant companion for someone who works from home, but he doesn’t need you by his side every minute of the day. In his foster home, he has been comfortable being left for a couple of hours at a time, and this could gradually be built up once he is settled into his new home. The best part of going out without him might just be coming home – Norman greets his foster carers with the happiest wiggles, bounces and excitement!
