The adoption process

Shelters in Czech Republic typically require an application form, a meeting with the animal, and sometimes a home visit. Adoption contracts specify your responsibilities as an owner, including providing adequate shelter, nutrition, and veterinary care. Most shelters also follow up after adoption to ensure the animal is settling in well.

What's included with adoption

Animals adopted from shelters in Czech Republicare generally vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered or spayed before rehoming. Adoption fees cover these veterinary costs and help the shelter continue its work. Fees vary by shelter and animal but are a fraction of what you'd pay at a breeder.

Adopting from Czech Republic to another country
