140J

Female · Adult · 8 years

Lulu is probably one of the most unlucky puppies that ever came to our shelter. She came to us with two sisters. All three were found in the forest near Dąbrowica. Lulu found a home. Unfortunately, after a few months, she came back to us. Later, she went to another family... and after about three months, she also came back to the shelter. We will not pretend that these experiences did not affect her. They did. And it was very big. Lulu still does not cope well with emotions. She is hyperactive, easily distracted, it is difficult for her to focus on one thing, and walking on a leash can be a big challenge for her. She needs a person who will be able to lead her calmly and consistently. And I want to take responsibility for myself here. As a person who decides on the adoptions of our animals, I believed that the homes I chose for Lulu would be ready to work with the puppy. Because the puppy is not a "ready dog" - it's a dog child who just needs to be taught about the world, rules, emotions and life by the side of a human. Unfortunately, the time spent in previous homes turned out to be a time when Lulu was not able to build what she needed. Therefore, the person who decides to adopt her will have to actually start this work from the beginning.

Lulu to chyba jeden z najbardziej pechowych szczeniaków, jakie kiedykolwiek trafiły do naszego schroniska.

About 140J

What life with 140J looks like

140J is a large adult dog waiting at Schronisko dla Zwierząt MPGK Jelenia Góra in Jelenia Góra.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting 140J, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about 140J?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Zwierząt MPGK Jelenia Góra handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw 140J on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt 140J if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Zwierząt MPGK Jelenia Góra will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is 140J already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if 140J isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Zwierząt MPGK Jelenia Góra early rather than rehoming privately; they know 140J and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
