Adopt Abby, Akaa

Mixed Breed · Female

Abby is a cat who was born approximately in 2015 and is now looking for her forever home. If you are looking for a cat that fits your home, Abby is not for you. This girl is looking for a home and people who fit her! Abby must be accepted as she is. Abby is shy, calm and reserved. She needs a home with calm and long-term human companions. However, Abby has shown that when given the chance to proceed at her own pace, she can surprise. Therefore, the search is for a calm home, which has patience and time for Abby. Abby could thrive as the only pet, as she does not really care much about other cats and tends to get annoyed when they come too close. Currently, Abby can already be petted during feeding and sometimes otherwise. Perhaps this is because this lady does not meow at the food table. When the food arrives at the table, then attention is focused on eating? Abby has been diagnosed with dental disease and some teeth had to be removed for this reason. The new home should take this into account and commit to monitoring Abby's mouth health with annual check-ups. Abby has also been diagnosed with an old fracture in the hind leg, which may cause joint problems as she gets older. Abby is spayed, microchipped, Fiv/Felv tested (negative), regularly dewormed and vaccinated.

Frequently asked

Adopting Abby, Akaa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Abby, Akaa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Kissojensuojelu.fi handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Abby, Akaa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Abby, Akaa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Kissojensuojelu.fi will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Abby, Akaa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Abby, Akaa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Kissojensuojelu.fi early rather than rehoming privately; they know Abby, Akaa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FI). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
