A heartwarming 4-year-old Rusina cat is looking for a peaceful and understanding forever home. If you want a small purring companion for your bed, Rusina could be the cat for you. Rusina was very shy when she first arrived at the foster home, and spent most of the first weeks hiding under the bed. Gradually, she became a very affectionate and sensitive cat. Nowadays, Rusina comes to your lap on her own, demands vigorous scratching, and jumps onto the bed in the evening to wait for evening scratching and going to bed together. In the morning, she gets excited as soon as she notices that someone is awake, and comes to be stroked. Rusina's favorite activities are interactive games, playing with different feeding toys, and lounging on the balcony. She has been tried to be trained in a harness, but the outside world frightens her sensitive soul so much that she is not brave enough to go beyond the front door at the moment. The lop-earedness that occurs in the Scottish fold breed is the result of a gene mutation that affects cartilage development, which also causes osteochondrodysplasia, a degenerative disease that affects the entire skeleton, cartilage, and joints, causing pain. Every Scottish fold cat will suffer from chronic pain at some point in their lives and will need continuous pain medication. Fold litters also produce cats with normal ears. Generally, Scottish straight cats do not have the osteochondrodysplasia-causing gene, but in some rare cases, the disease can also occur in them, so the cat's health status must be monitored and osteochondrodysplasia must be taken into account in the new home. Rusina also has atopy, the cause of which has not been found, and which manifests itself as itching and skin symptoms. It has been found that the allergy is not food-related, but if the symptoms worsen so that the skin on the neck breaks or hair loss occurs, it is good to take Rusina to the vet for a possible cortisone course or itching relief medication. Rusina may have incipient spondylosis on her back on the side of the tail, for which a pain medication trial was tried as a precaution. Rusina has not shown any pain symptoms, and the pain medication did not change the situation, so it was stopped. Rusina would be well suited for a single cat home where the young cat gets enough activity, or she could get along with a gentle and calm cat companion. Rusina's shy nature means she is not suitable for homes with young children. In the new home, Rusina is likely to be shy and withdrawn for the first couple of weeks, as she is sensitive to new environments. She may need time to get used to new people, sounds, and the environment. While in foster care, she showed that when Rusina is allowed to get to know and settle at her own pace, the shyness gives way to a very affectionate and loving cat.

Rusina oli sijaiskotiin tullessaan hyvin arka, ja ensimmäiset viikot hän vietti suurimmaksi osaksi sängyn alla piilossa. Rusinalla ei ole esiintynyt kivun oireita eikä kipulääke muuttanut tilannetta, joten se lopetettiin. Rusina sopisi hyvin ainoaksi kissaksi kotiin, jossa nuori kissa saa riittävästi aktivointia, tai hän voisi tulla kiltin ja rauhallisen kissakaverin kanssa toimeen. Rusinan aran luonteen takia hän ei sopisi kotiin pienten lasten kanssa. Uudessa kodissa Rusina on todennäköisesti ensimmäiset pari viikkoa jälleen arka ja vetäytyvä, sillä hän on herkkä uusille ympäristöille. Hän voi tarvita aikaa totutellakseen uusiin ihmisiin, ääniin ja ympäristöön. Sijaiskodissa ollessaan hän kuitenkin osoitti, että kun Rusina saa rauhassa tutustua ja kotiutua omaan tahtiinsa, arkuuden alta kuoriutuu hyvin läheisyydenkipeä ja rakastava kissa.
