Ada (w)

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Small, lost... and yet full of hope. That’s little puppy mouse ADA... Just about 4 months old (and she’ll stay small) – and already life has shown her its harsh side. She was simply unlucky... in the wrong place at the wrong time. The dogcatchers spotted her, picked her up—and like so many others, they just dropped her off at the public animal shelter in Botosani (Romania). Without a second chance. Since then, she’s been living there, among roughly 800 other dogs—among countless puppies all struggling to survive. Every single day is a battle just to get enough food, to fight against heat, thunderstorms, and storms, to avoid infections—and to simply not succumb. A tiny body in a world that’s far too big, far too rough. And yet... she’s managed to keep her puppy-like heart intact. She’s curious, gentle, and full of hope—ready to discover life, if only someone would give her the chance. What you need to know: She’s still far too young to say what kind of character she’ll develop. She’s right at the very beginning of her life—her personality will only take shape over time. That means you should be prepared to embrace everything and accompany her with love. The little mouse will soon be ready for adoption and is just waiting to finally be seen... truly seen. We’re hoping for a loving home for this little mouse—a home with people who understand that a puppy requires work, patience, and time—but also offers a lifetime filled with love. Very important: Please don’t adopt a dog out of mere pity. A dog is a commitment for many years—10, 15 years, or even longer. She needs you as a reliable partner by her side. We’d be happy to have an in-depth conversation with you beforehand, so we can figure out together whether it’s really the right match—honestly, openly, and always with the dog’s best interests in mind.

About Ada (w)

What life with Ada (w) looks like

Ada (w) is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. in Nürnberg.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ada (w), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ada (w)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ada (w) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ada (w) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ada (w) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ada (w) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ada (w) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
