Adopt Spooky or Salem

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Say hello to Spooky and Salem who are looking for their very own homes where they can slowly come out of their shells and discover the world. These little ones haven’t seen much of the world yet, so everything can feel a little spooky! They are both nervous by nature, but have been making lovely progress in foster care and are beginning to show more of their personalities. They absolutely adore following their confident canine foster siblings around and are often found snoozing or cuddled up alongside them. Spooky and Salem are looking for separate homes, but they will need to live with another adult, confident dog who can help show them the ropes, pending a successful meet at the centre. They could potentially live with dog-savvy, confident cats. Their new families will need to take things slowly and patiently, introducing them to new people, places and experiences at their own pace. As their confidence grows, we expect these little Border Collies to become energetic and adventurous companions who will love getting out and about and exploring. They would suit an older family environment where everyone understands that they may need some extra space and quiet time while they settle in. Due to their age, they will also need someone who is home for the majority of the day to help with house training, settling into their new home and, most importantly, building their confidence. With time, patience and plenty of positive experiences, we’re sure these two little pumpkins will blossom into wonderful companions. About Adopt Spooky or Salem

What life with Adopt Spooky or Salem looks like

Adopt Spooky or Salem is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Hope Rescue in Pontyclun.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Adopt Spooky or Salem, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Adopt Spooky or Salem?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hope Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Adopt Spooky or Salem on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Adopt Spooky or Salem if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hope Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Adopt Spooky or Salem already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Adopt Spooky or Salem isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hope Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Adopt Spooky or Salem and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
