Ringo ID No.: 1047084 Breed: German Shepherd-Malinois-mixed breed Age: *04.03.2023 Sex: male Shoulder height: approx. 75 cm Neutered: Yes Location: Marbella (Spain) Inquiry form Ringo – a big bear looking for his big happiness Ringo (*04.03.2023, approx. 75 cm) is a stunning German Shepherd-Malinois-mixed breed with an impressive stature. He arrived at our Spanish partner shelter Triple A from the Perrera in Malaga in December 2025 after his previous owners no longer wanted him and simply surrendered him. Right from the start, he showed himself to be an extremely playful, affectionate, and loving male dog. Since then, he has been living harmoniously at the animal shelter alongside other social female dogs. Many of his girlfriends, such as Maisy, India, or Penny, have already left the animal shelter. Now we very much hope that this big cuddlebug will soon find his own forever home. Ringo is a strong male dog for whom life outside the shelter is still stressful. On a trip to the beach, he loved running in the sand and playing in the water, but getting into the car and encountering so many unfamiliar dogs and people from all directions was a bit overwhelming for him. In his familiar surroundings, like the outdoor runs at the animal shelter, however, he is completely relaxed. Therefore, Ringo is looking for a home in a rural area where he can enjoy peaceful walks in nature and simple daily routines. He prefers relaxing with a picnic under trees or by a lake over walking through busy city streets. He is very social with large, friendly female dogs, treats them respectfully, and shows no jealousy over attention, food, or toys. He would be wonderful as a companion to a large female dog already in the home or could also be rehomed as an only dog, as he is very people-oriented. Being a large, proud male dog himself, he does not get along well with other pushy male dogs and tends to have difficulty with small, noisy dogs. Ringo needs physically fit people who can confidently handle him on-leash when he spots something interesting during walks. His dream humans should also greatly enjoy physical closeness, as he loves cuddling, snuggling up, and being petted all day long if possible. Due to his enormous size, all family members should be confident and experienced in handling dogs. Ringo is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and holds an EU pet passport. For travel arrangements, he has been tested for Mediterranean diseases and has been dewormed and treated for fleas. About Ringo

What life with Ringo looks like

Ringo is a large young adult german shepherd dog waiting at Helfende Hände e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ringo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ringo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Helfende Hände e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ringo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ringo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Helfende Hände e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ringo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ringo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Helfende Hände e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ringo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
