Amber

Mixed Breed Cat · Female

Meow! Hello, my name is Amber, My personality: I am a shy girl, but I do like a fuss. I absolutely love Dreamies and Dentalife treats, I hope my new family have lots of these, this might be the way to become my best friend (with limits of course!). Once I am used to you being around I will come and sit on your knee, I am very wary and always looking around at what is going on. My ideal home: My purrfect home would be with a family who has lots of time for a cat like me, I have lived with other cats before and I could do it again potentially with slow introductions once I have settled in. If I have to share my home with children they would need to be calm, patience and understanding It might take me some time to come around. Access to outdoors: I would be happy being an indoor cat but In my previous home I did have access to the outdoors, the humans feel I would be happy with either life. Toileting: I am litter trained, I prefer wood pellet litter. Did you know: Tabby cats make up the vast majority of cats, and you will struggle to find cats without the trademark M on their forehead. My adoption fee is£125

About Amber

What life with Amber looks like

Amber is a adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Rain Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Amber, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Amber?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rain Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Amber on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Amber if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rain Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Amber already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Amber isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rain Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Amber and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
