Apre i lavori la presidente Laura Boldrini. Intervengono le associazioni Animalisti Italiani, Enpa, Lav, Leidaa, Lipu, Lega Nazionale per la Difesa del Cane, Oipa . Accrediti stampa entro lunedì 15 maggio a . Roma, 12 maggio 2017 – Gabbiani fatti esplodere in volo; gatti ridotti in fin di vita in un forno a micro-onde; cani impiccati, presi a bastonate e poi uccisi. E ancora: pagine che incitano all’odio contro gli animali, post che invitano ad ucciderli, fotomontaggi macabri dove nulla è lasciato all’immaginazione. Sul web, soprattutto sui social network, c’è un campionario pressoché illimitato video e fotografie che documentano atti di crudeltà compiuti ai danni degli animali. E non sempre di tratta di fotomontaggi. Molto spesso, infatti, quelle fotografie e quei filmati documentano sevizie realmente accadute, compiute dagli aguzzini con un solo obiettivo: ottenere visibilità sul web. Guadagnare a suon di click e di “like”, uno spicchio di celebrità tra miliardi di pagine che affollano l’universo virtuale. Benché allarmante – il reato maltrattamento di animali è un chiaro indicatore circa la pericolosità di un individuo – questo fenomeno è molto difficile da contrastare, perché il più delle volte gli stessi gestori dei social sono riluttanti a consideralo nelle sua reale portata. E ad adottare gli opportuni provvedimenti: chiudere il proprio spazio sociale ad ogni forma di crudeltà e di violenza, compreso l’hate speech, contro ogni essere vivente umano e non. Per questo l’Ente Nazionale Protezione Animali unitamente alle associazioni Animalisti Italiani, Lav, Leidaa, Lipu, Lega Nazionale per la Difesa del Cane, Oipa, ha organizzato alla Camera dei Deputati il convegno dal titolo “Specie diverse – stesse tutela” focalizzato proprio sul tema dei reati online contro gli animali. Obiettivo dell’iniziativa è quello di avviare un confronto tra istituzioni, associazioni e portatori di interessi (social network in primis) per pianificare azioni di contrasto, cogenti e immediate, contro un fenomeno che non colpisce solo gli animali. Colpisce anche le categorie più fragili dal punto di vista sociale e culturale. Soprattutto i minori, particolarmente esposti al pericolo di comportamenti emulativi. La data scelta per l’evento, martedì 16 maggio alle ore 15, ha un forte valore simbolico perché precede di poche ore il via al del processo contro i quattro aguzzini del cane Angelo, torturato e ucciso barbaramente. Non paghi di aver infierito contro l’animale, i quattro giovani hanno ripreso il tutto con uno smartphone, pubblicando il video delle sevizie su una pagina Facebook. L’appuntamento con il convegno “Specie diverse – stesse tutele” è per martedì 16 maggio alle ore 15 presso la Sala Aldo Moro della Camera dei Deputati. Aprirà i lavori la presidente Laura Boldrini.
