adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! Rest in peace, little treasure… His story: The love of a dog is absolute and boundless when we truly deserve it. Little Apatchi wants to convince you of that! When it gets tough, a true character is shown. Acting selflessly and taking responsibility is often uncomfortable, but it belongs to life. When the pregnant dog Noxi was found on the street in Bistrita and rescued by our animal rescuer Carmen, it was a high-stakes game. That night, the little female dog gave birth to nine beautiful babies. Apatchi, Amy, Frodo, Asra, Shira, Lilou, Amilie, Sunflower, and Mariposa are now three and a half months old and can soon travel. At Carmen, the siblings are developing wonderfully, and one of these jewels is the little Apatchi. Apatchi shines like black silk, except for a few white toes that stubbornly stand out on his paws. With a shoulder height of about 17-18 cm and his 5 kg, he is a delicate little fellow who will remain small even as an adult. He has already met other dogs and even a cat at Carmen. Apatchi greets the four-legged friends with friendliness and love. The cheerful puppy boy plays and frolics with his siblings and enjoys cuddle sessions with the foster parents. When you take a puppy into your midst, your previous everyday life will be turned upside down. Everything revolves around the new family member, and you will have to reorganize your daily routine because puppies should not be left alone. Initially, Apatchi needs your wholehearted warmth to be able to bond trustfully with you. How quickly these little wonders slip into your life and then into your heart! To become house-trained, be able to walk on a leash, and understand his name, Apatchi needs a certain amount of time. It is important to explain to the little ones with patience and composure what we expect from them without losing sight of their needs. On the path to adulthood, there is still a significant hurdle for both human and four-legged friend: puberty often messes up the good relationship between primary caregiver and shelter dog once again. See this time as another opportunity to learn from each other, to get to know each other, and to strengthen the young dog. We recommend visiting appropriate dog schools or contacting trainers who are familiar with the small furballs from animal shelters. With positive support, you have a good chance of building a close bond with Apatchi and becoming his heart's desire. Apatchi is a cute puppy. Give him the chance to grow up valued and become your beloved companion. Apatchi is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He is named and thus has an identity thanks to his godmother Isabell.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen!Ruhe in Frieden, kleiner Schatz…

About Apatchi

What life with Apatchi looks like

Apatchi is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Apatchi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Apatchi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Apatchi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Apatchi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Apatchi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Apatchi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Apatchi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
