Arthur &#8211

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

We are delighted to introduce you to four adorable Linarense puppies who are on the lookout for a loving home. Our playful newcomers are a unique mix of Brittany and Border Collie, which not only gives them a charming appearance but also a wonderful personality. Britta, Sela, April, and their brother Arthur were born on March 25, 2025, in a one-bedroom apartment to a kind woman. The animal-loving lady took the mother of the little ones from the street into her home but was then forced to leave her village for work for several weeks. During this time, the female dog managed to fend for herself and became pregnant. When her supporters returned, they soon had not just one hungry mouth to feed but many. Some of the babies have already found families, and our quartet got to move into the animal shelter of our friends with their mother, so that no one has to live on the street when tough times come. The combination of Brittany and Border Collie is highly exciting and promising (not to mention that our clover is rather low-growing!). Brittones are known for their friendly and balanced nature, while Border Collies are famous for their intelligence and energy. Our puppies combine these traits, and we are looking forward to following their development a little in their new home. Our siblings are extremely playful and curious. They love to discover new things and are always ready for an adventure. At the same time, they are very clingy and enjoy the company of humans. All puppies are healthy and have received their first vaccinations. Now it is time for our young researchers to find families—humorous and active people who are aware of the responsibility and commitment that comes with a cuddly and inquisitive puppy. If you are interested in giving one of these wonderful puppies a home, we look forward to hearing from you.

About Arthur &#8211

What life with Arthur &#8211 looks like

Arthur &#8211 is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Arthur &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Arthur &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Arthur &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Arthur &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Arthur &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Arthur &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Arthur &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
