Artin

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 8 years

Native Country: Hungary Our heartwarming Artin arrived at the animal shelter on May 21, 2026, as a found dog. He was found wandering homeless in a residential area in Kecskemét and reported to the animal shelter. As expected, he was neither microchipped nor missed by anyone. Whether Artin was abandoned or ran away from home, we unfortunately do not know; it will remain his secret. In any case, another wonderful four-legged friend is waiting to be discovered by loving people who can care for him and make his new life happy. Artin was initially a bit shy, which is totally understandable. He probably had no idea that someone would shower him with love and attention. But he is finding more and more enjoyment in it and relishes the cuddles and affection, something he doesn’t want to miss again and has a lot of catching up to do. The people he knows have already won his heart, but with strangers, it takes a few minutes for him to realize that they mean him well. Otherwise, he is a friendly and nice little guy that just has to be loved. Artin still needs to learn a few things about doggy basics, but he will surely quickly understand how to run like a hare and make up for the missed time. Walking on the leash is already going well, but it is still in need of improvement, but practice makes the man. He is curious about the big, wide world out there, which he wants to explore step by step with his new people. He looks forward to many beautiful hours with his new family. Artin has no problems with his fellow animals and is currently (June 10, 2026) being integrated into a mixed pack. Our charming Artin longs for a protected home with sensitive and loving people who can give him the trust he can share, and who can provide him with security, care, love, and the safety he so desperately needs and requires. A soft bed, many cuddles, beautiful walks, dog-appropriate exercise, and his own people who will never leave him, and Artin can finally enjoy a worthy and carefree life. Who will show Artin the sunny sides of life? Artin needed two teeth extracted. Artin can travel from around the end of June/early July 2026 if he finds a home or a foster home.

About Artin

What life with Artin looks like

Artin is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Artin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Artin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Artin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Artin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Artin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Artin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Artin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
