adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Arwen was locally rehomed! Your story: "Just as I imagined him!" Our Arwen, one must simply say, is the most beautiful answer to long-held dog wishes since childhood. Puffily waddling, the approximately 5-month-old puppy looks forward to the world, side by side with his sister Nalani, ready for first adventures, but also very content with warm retreat spots and many cuddle moments. Just in case, he already has the black superhero doggy glasses in his fur and is now on the lookout for the one, his forever home. Arwen currently weighs 10kg and will reach a medium dog size. With that – plus the fact that he always meets other dogs and people with friendliness – Arwen is suitable for almost any environment. First and foremost, but that applies to all our dogs, he needs to find a loving family connection with as much playtime as cuddles. Arwen is still a very young male dog and will have to learn a lot more. One or another mishap shouldn't be held against him and should be accompanied by a positive reinforcement training style. A visit to the puppy school can also strengthen the bond and create a wonderful foundation for all the coming happy years. In the first year of life, young dogs should be as little alone as possible. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the lives of the little rascals upside down. They "forget" often everything they have learned so far and the ears are on full blast. Therefore, it is especially important to train consistently – but lovingly – during this phase. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Our Arwen is still not neutered due to his age, but he is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He has an EU pet passport and can be fostered after a positive response. Also, a foster home would already be a wonderful first step towards a happy future. Do you take Arwen into your life? Then we look forward to your request. A foster home would also be a wonderful first step. Many thanks, Gritt K.! You named Arwen! Date: 01.01.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Gritt K.! Du hast Arwen seinen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 01.01.2024

About Arwen

What life with Arwen looks like

Arwen is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Arwen, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Arwen?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Arwen on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Arwen if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Arwen already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Arwen isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Arwen and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
