BALOO

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 5 years

BALOO (M) - 3.5 years - to adopt BLC W134005172 Characteristics Date of birth: 22/11/2019 Sex: Male Registered with LOF/LOSH/ISDS: No Disabilities: No Interaction with children: Avoid young children Interaction with dogs: Yes after introduction Interaction with cats: Yes after introduction Interaction with other: No Character Baloo is a kind dog, calm at home, affectionate with his owner. But Baloo is very shy because Baloo knows little about life. Baloo is shy with humans. At first, he barks because he is scared. He needs time to be approached. But in a few hours he becomes an affectionate dog. He has the same behavior with other animals of the same species and other animals in general. He also lacks socialization. Baloo can also create fears on his own: a paper bag, a cushion placed there... in this case, he barks, he growls. Show him that his fear is not justified, let him feel the object to calm him down. Baloo is not aggressive. Story Baloo was entrusted to us by his family who can no longer manage his fears outdoors (barking). What family for Baloo: Baloo needs a patient and present family who will take his fears into account and help him gain confidence. Baloo was introduced to agility and liked it. It is an activity that could help him progress. He is vaccinated against rabies so he can cross borders. Adoption is a thoughtful act. About BALOO

What life with BALOO looks like

BALOO is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Border Line Collie in borderlinecollie.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting BALOO, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about BALOO?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Border Line Collie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw BALOO on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt BALOO if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Border Line Collie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is BALOO already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if BALOO isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Border Line Collie early rather than rehoming privately; they know BALOO and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
