File No.: r-korfu-balu-m-1125 Update April 2026: Balu has now been neutered and currently weighs 26kg. Update January 2026: Balu is developing very well and is now housed in an outdoor enclosure with other dogs. We still hope to find a loving foster or forever home for him soon... Update end of November 2025: The sweet Balu - everything is going well! Nothing is swollen, and he is using his leg more and more—now all that's missing is the right foster home to take care of his two needs: post-operative care and his fear of strangers. Unfortunately, he is still afraid of leashes.. Our shelter staff work with Balu daily, but he still needs a bit more time. It would, of course, be much better if he could have a foster placement with plenty of time for Balu... November 2025: Balu is a young male dog who was apparently hit by a car. He had to endure at least 2 days of pain and fear on the main road until animal lovers found him and took him to the vet. At the vet, it was determined that his leg was broken—see X-ray images. Since it was a difficult surgery, Balu was operated on by a specialist in Thessaloniki—we thank all the donors who supported us! Balu is estimated to be 1.5-2 years old. All dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, and have an EU pet passport.

Update Januar 2026: Balu entwickelt sich super und ist mittlerweile mit anderen Hunden in einem Außengehege untergebracht. Wir hoffen immer noch sehr, bald eine liebevolle Pflege- oder Endstelle für ihn zu finden... Update Ende November 2025: Der süße Balu - alles verläuft prima! Nichts ist geschwollen, er belastet das Beinchen immer mehr — jetzt fehlt nur noch die passende Pflegestelle, die sich um seine beiden Baustellen kümmert: die Nachbehandlung der OP und Balus Angst vor Fremden. Leider hat er noch immer Angst vor Leinen.. Unsere Tierheimmitarbeiter arbeiten täglich mit Balu, aber er braucht noch ein wenig Zeit. Viel besser wäre natürlich ein Pflegeplatz mit viel Zeit für Balu... November 2025: Balu ist ein junger Rüde, der offensichtlich angefahren wurde. Er musste sich wohl mindestens 2 Tage voller Schmerzen und verängstigt an der Hauptstraße durchschlagen bis Tierfreunde ihn gefunden und zum Tierarzt gebracht haben. Beim Tierarzt wurde dann festgestellt, dass sein Bein gebrochen ist - siehe Röntgenbilder. Da es eine schwierige OP war, wurde Balu von einem Spezialisten in Thessaloniki operiert - wir danken allen Spendern, die uns dabei unterstützt haben!Balu ist geschätzt 1,5-2 Jahre alt.
