Adopt Beatle

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 2 months

If you cross a Terrier with a Labrador, you get a Beetle. So no, it doesn't always work out, but in the case of our "Beatle," it worked really well. Beatle is six years old (as of 07/2021) and a real dream dog. He had a nice life with a kind family so far, and even now, when he had to be given up very quickly because of an allergy of his owner's son, he was fortunately spared the experience of an animal shelter, because the lively Beetle came into the care of loving animal protectors in Seville, who form a small community called "Asociación Gala," which exclusively takes care of their four-legged friends in foster homes. Beatle is therefore living in a family again, he knows no bars, no concrete floors, and it's clear that he feels really great with his temporary hosts (which can also be perfectly appreciated as a Labrador mix). Our black gentleman with the cute white apron and sporty socks also shows his very best side - and that's really something. Beatle is a quiet and very attentive companion. He watches his humans closely and tries with all his strength to please the two-legged beings. He has understood in record time that there are rooms in his temporary home that he is not allowed to enter without permission, he stays absolutely problem-free alone and the neighbors confirm that he neither barks nor howls when he has "free rein." He can already walk without a leash after two months and listens well when his foster mom calls him - even when he is actually supposed to be playing and running around, because a heartbreaker like Beatle naturally has many four-legged friends who are happy to meet him on walks. Our friendly licorice nose also enjoys when visitors come and impresses people who usually don't have much to do with dogs with his loving nature. A compact ball addict, a sympathetic soul comforter, a real sweetie and a complete beginner dog is looking for a new area of influence. Honestly, this should really not be a problem for such a talented gentleman in the best of ages, or maybe it is...?

About Beatle

What life with Beatle looks like

Beatle is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Beatle, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Beatle?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Beatle on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Beatle if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Beatle already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Beatle isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Beatle and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
