Belle

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 12 years

With a very heavy heart it’s time to put Belle up for adoption ❤️ This little girl is adorable and would definitely be staying if I didn’t already have so many but she deserves all the love and affection in the world and…she’d prefer not to have chase Zac and Bear up the stairs when they annoy her! She may be tiny but she’s definitely mighty with bags of purrsonality. She’s into every open cupboard, will sleep with you nose to nose, will climb onto your lap when you sit down and purr and chirp. She’s just delightful. She was presented to our vet in a very sorry state, crawling in fleas with red weeping skin and the owners wanted her put to sleep. That’s all now sorted, her fur is growing back and she’s a little beauty once again. They did say she had a traumatic hip dislocation at some point and she appears to have a touch of arthritis in it now. Metacam has improved her quality of life no end and she’s now jumping up onto the windowsills 🙂 Going forward, BWCR will fund monthly Solensia injections at Fernlea vets for this. She’s 10 yrs old and can be a bit wobbly on her hind legs so an indoor home would be perfect for her- she shows no interest in the great outdoors at all. She tolerates other cats so long as they don’t bother her but they won’t get a look in when it comes to lap time! Someone retired or working from home would be perfect as she loves company so much. Neutered, chipped, had first vaccination with 5 weeks free insurance. Please mail us at with your ADDRESS and CONTACT NUMBER for our gorgeous girlie.

About Belle

What life with Belle looks like

Belle is a very small senior mixed breed cat waiting at Bristol and Wales Cat Rescue in United Kingdom.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Belle, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Belle?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Bristol and Wales Cat Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Belle on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Belle if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Bristol and Wales Cat Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Belle already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Belle isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Bristol and Wales Cat Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Belle and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
