Benny is an incredibly loving 4.5 year old miniature dachshund looking for his forever home. His home-life is too busy and unsettled for him and his current family have made the difficult decision that he will be happier in a new home which can give him the quiet, relaxing environment he needs. Benny would thrive in a child-free, routine-based home where he is the only dog. Benny takes his guard-dog duties very seriously and his interactions with strangers need to be managed carefully. He has been known to snap or nip at visiting men in the home and needs a kind and patient owner who is prepared to work with him and our behaviourist to make him more comfortable with visitors in the home and passers-by on walks. Benny is toilet trained, in excellent health and travels well in the car. He loves to walk in a quiet, open area where he can sniff til his heart is content. He is happy to sleep in his bed in his human’s bedroom, but absolutely loves to snuggle up in bed with his family. If you can give Benny the time and love he needs, you will be rewarded with a loyal, loving, funny companion who will never leave your side and be the happy-go-lucky boy he’s meant to be.
