Bertoldo is a two-year-old black cat, but most of all, he's a four-legged clingy! He's an incredibly sweet cat, very affectionate and in need of contact and attention. He loves to be held, snuggle on legs and sleep close to people: in short, if you're looking for a cat that can keep you company, Bertoldo has all the qualities! Bertoldo tested positive for FeLV (feline leukemia), a viral infection that is transmitted exclusively between cats, especially through close and prolonged contacts. FeLV can compromise the immune system over time and favor the onset of infections and other health problems. Therefore, it requires periodic veterinary checks and careful management of his health. The good news is that, at the moment, Bertoldo is completely asymptomatic: the tests are perfect and he doesn't show any symptoms related to the disease. The only peculiarity found is myosis, a narrowing of the pupils. It is probably a neurological consequence of FeLV, but at the moment it is not associated with other problems and does not seem to significantly compromise his vision. Character: Bertoldo is an extremely sweet, sociable and affectionate cat. He loves contact with people and doesn't hesitate to climb into your arms: once he's won over a pair of available legs, it's very likely that he'll decide to turn them into his favorite spot for a nap! He's curious, playful and loves to interact with those who care for him. He's just the classic cat who seeks the company of people and who seems to never have enough cuddles. A real clingy, in short. ❤️ Ideal adoption: For Bertoldo we are looking for a family that knows how to appreciate his extraordinary sweetness and that is aware of the needs of a FeLV positive cat. He can also be adopted by people who are new to having a cat, as long as they are willing to inform themselves thoroughly about FeLV, its management and the specific needs of a positive cat. Bertoldo cannot have access to the outside, both to protect his health and to avoid possible contacts with negative cats. However, he can live with other FeLV positive cats, subject to compatibility assessment and with proper introduction. He can also live in a family with children, as long as they are educated to respect the spaces and times of the cat. The FeLV positivity does not prevent Bertoldo from living a full, serene and affectionate life: at the moment he is fine, in excellent shape and does not show symptoms of the disease. Generalità: Bertoldo è un bellissimo gatto nero di due anni, ma soprattutto è una vera e propria cozza a quattro zampe! È un gatto dolcissimo, molto affettuoso e bisognoso di contatto e attenzioni. Adora stare in braccio, accoccolarsi sulle gambe e dormire vicino alle persone: insomma, se state cercando un gatto che sappia farvi compagnia, Bertoldo ha tutte le carte in regola! Bertoldo è risultato positivo alla FeLV (leucemia felina), un’infezione virale che si trasmette esclusivamente tra gatti, soprattutto attraverso contatti stretti e prolungati. La FeLV può compromettere nel tempo le difese immunitarie e favorire l’insorgenza di infezioni e altre problematiche di salute. Necessita pertanto di controlli veterinari periodici e di un’attenta gestione della sua salute. La buona notizia è che, al momento, Bertoldo è completamente asintomatico: gli esami sono perfetti e non presenta alcuna sintomatologia legata alla malattia. L’unica particolarità riscontrata è la miosi, cioè un restringimento delle pupille. È probabilmente una conseguenza neurologica della FeLV, ma al momento non è associata ad altri problemi e non sembra compromettere in maniera significativa la sua vista. Carattere: Bertoldo è un gatto estremamente dolce, socievole e affettuoso. Ama il contatto con le persone e non si fa certo pregare per salire in braccio: una volta conquistato un paio di gambe disponibili, è molto probabile che decida di trasformarle nel suo posto preferito per un pisolino! È curioso, giocherellone e ama interagire con chi si prende cura di lui. È proprio il classico gatto che cerca la compagnia delle persone e che sembra non avere mai abbastanza coccole. Una vera cozza, insomma. ❤️ Adozione ideale: Per Bertoldo cerchiamo una famiglia che sappia apprezzare la sua straordinaria dolcezza e che sia consapevole delle esigenze di un gatto FeLV positivo. Può essere adottato anche da persone alla prima esperienza con un gatto, purché siano disponibili a informarsi in modo approfondito sulla FeLV, sulla sua gestione e sulle esigenze specifiche di un gatto positivo. Bertoldo non può avere accesso all’esterno, sia per tutelare la sua salute sia per evitare possibili contatti con gatti negativi. Può invece convivere con altri gatti FeLV positivi, previa valutazione della compatibilità e con un adeguato inserimento. Può vivere anche in una famiglia con bambini, purché siano educati al rispetto degli spazi e dei tempi del gatto. La positività alla FeLV non impedisce a Bertoldo di vivere una vita piena, serena e ricca di affetto: al momento sta bene, è in ottima forma e non presenta sintomi della malattia.
