Bob & Sam

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 11 years

Bob & Sam are searching for their forever home together. Bob (black and white, born on 15.01.2015, 34.7 kg) and Sam (brown, born on 14.12.2017, 27.7 kg) have finally made the leap to a foster home in Germany. The two friends were born into an environment where people primarily meant fear and uncertainty to them. They grew up in a pack and were always dependent on each other throughout their lives. Thanks to a lot of patience, love, and understanding, Bob and Sam have learned to trust at the animal shelter. From cautious dogs, they have become true cuddle fans who enjoy their walks and can walk nicely on a leash. Bob and Sam are inseparable. They have spent their entire lives together, giving each other support and security, and should therefore be rehomed together. On their foster home, the two show themselves to be uncomplicated and friendly dogs. They especially love spending time in the garden. Therefore, we wish for them a quiet home with a large, securely fenced yard where they can enjoy nature. They are absolutely compatible with other dogs and even cats. Now, all that is missing for Bob and Sam is a loving home where they can finally arrive and find the security they so deserve.

About Bob & Sam

What life with Bob & Sam looks like

Bob & Sam is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. in Stuttgart.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bob & Sam, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bob & Sam?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bob & Sam on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bob & Sam if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bob & Sam already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bob & Sam isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bob & Sam and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
