Bob

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 7 years

Bob arrived at Canile Arzachena in August 2025. He was seized due to his poor living conditions. However, it was unclear when the proceedings against the owner would be completed and how they would turn out. From experience with a very loving female dog who has been living in the canile for several years now, together with Bob in the enclosure, and for whom no decision has yet been made, we feared that it could also take time for Bob. And during this time, we couldn't do anything for the friendly dog - just wait, hope, and - when we were on site - spoil him with a few treats. But now, faster than expected: During our visit at the end of June 2026, we learned that the proceedings have been completed. We can look for a family for Bob. We were very happy. And so we can finally introduce Bob here on our website. Bob is a big, strong dog, but he has a great character. He is friendly and people-oriented and therefore enjoyed our attention very much. Because the employees of the Canile are also nice to the animals, but there is definitely no time for special attention or extensive stroking. Therefore, we wish Bob that he can leave the Canile soon and start his journey to Germany. Here he should enjoy a happy and hopefully long dog life with loving people who want to give him the dream home with close family ties forever. Maybe at your place? If you are currently looking for a new furry family member and you know that an adoption not only means a lot of joy, but also work and great responsibility, then we look forward to your message.

About Bob

What life with Bob looks like

Bob is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at ProTier e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bob, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bob?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ProTier e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bob on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bob if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ProTier e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bob already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bob isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ProTier e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bob and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
