adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Bolt has found a home! Bolt is waiting in his foster home until mid-March! His story: Bistrita, Romania. Our Bolt is a puppy of the extra class! To be honest, puppies are generally pretty cute, but with the little Bolt, cuteness reaches a whole new dimension. His special appearance, where every color accent is in the right place, his golden floppy ears, and his loyal doggy gaze make him a true heart-melter. Bolts mother was put up for breeding and immediately gave birth to eight puppies. Four of them, and even she herself, were already rehomed locally. That left Bolt and his siblings Bailey, Suse, and Animo. We are now putting all our efforts into finding a foster home or ideally a permanent home for them to save them from shelter life. In the meantime, Bolt is in a Romanian foster home, where he spreads positive energy with his charming nature and infectious joy wherever he goes. Whether he is curiously exploring his surroundings or snuggling up in his dog bed – he has mastered the art of putting a smile on people's faces. He also gets along well with the other dogs and even the cats living there. Unfortunately, the breeds in Bolt's lineage cannot be precisely determined. His siblings all look completely different. Therefore, the mini-dog, which is likely to be medium-sized, remains the surprise package that we love about mixed breeds – a small surprise whose unique qualities will become apparent as he grows. Bolt is ready to learn every day and to get to know the world of a family dog. His future adopters should have plenty of time for him, as puppies should not be left alone for long periods in the first year. Patience and understanding are also important, as while Bolt tries his best, mastering the household dog ABC will not happen overnight. A visit to a qualified dog training class could certainly bring Bolt joy and would be especially valuable in light of the upcoming puberty. Additionally, varied walks, interesting playtime, and plenty of cuddle time should have a firm place in Bolt's daily routine. Bolt is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and has an EU pet passport. Castration is age-dependent and not yet possible. Who would like to experience the wonderful moments of a furry friendship with our Bolt? We thank Gaby R. for giving him his first name. As of: 01.03. Some symptoms here are age-related.

Stand: 01.03.2024

About Bolt

What life with Bolt looks like

Bolt is a very small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bolt, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bolt?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bolt on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bolt if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bolt already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bolt isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bolt and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
