Boston &#8211

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 11 months

Boston now lives in 63538 Großkrotzenburg. All the best. Heartfelt thanks, Frau H. Boston is a charmer with amber-shining eyes, a broad smile on his face, and an unimaginably elegant, flowing coat. The 11-month-old (as of November 2025) male dog came to the animal shelter with his equally pretty sister Arizona from the animal shelter of our friends at El Buen Amigo. The two dogs were alone on the streets and, due to their size, likely made some people feel afraid. Fortunately, the animal protection services were informed about the pair, and our partners then realized they had two friendly, exceedingly grateful young puppies in their care, and not the expected monsters… Arizona found a loving family very quickly after her move into the animal shelter, but Boston is still waiting for his ticket to happiness. But with his radiance, his wonderful nature, and his breathtaking appearance, we would indeed (hopefully) be very surprised if the playful clown were to be locked up for long. Boston is not yet fully grown, but much will not change in that regard. With a shoulder height of 60cm and weighing 25kg, he is about as large as a slender Labrador, and his character is similarly sunny. Boston loves people of all sizes and appearances, other dogs, he is open and curious, and he has a really bright mind. For our flowing pubescence, we are looking for an active home with people who will gently explain the world to Boston and share it with him. Boston can be rehomed as a second dog very well, he is suitable for (loyal, playful) children and is happy to be right in the middle of everything instead of just being there. Our athletic young athlete is playful, very cuddly, and ready to dive into any imaginable adventure with his new best friends!

Boston lebt jetzt in 63538 Großkrotzenburg. Alles Gute.

About Boston &#8211

What life with Boston &#8211 looks like

Boston &#8211 is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Boston &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Boston &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Boston &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Boston &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Boston &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Boston &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Boston &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
