Adopt Botas

German Shepherd · Male · Young · 1 year

Description Our animal welfare workers report: the beautiful Botas was being kept in a house in the southern Spanish town of Navarres, the owner of the house called the police to have the dog picked up. A local animal rescuer then took the people-friendly Botas. From the very first moment, Botas was happy about human contact and very attentive and interested. The four-legged friend has energy! He walks great on the leash, except when something catches his interest, then he starts to use his strength. Botas particularly likes humans, he is very friendly to men, women, and also to sensible children. Botas approaches new situations openly and very friendly. The young male dog shows himself to be compatible with fellow animals, regardless of whether they are male or female. The shelter team is confident that Botas will be a great everyday companion in his new home. Of course, Botas is still very playful and also very funny, both with humans and with fellow animals. He is eager to learn and very loyal to the person who takes him for walks; he always stays close to his person and enjoys little mental tasks. He is an active young dog who still has his whole life ahead of him! Who would like to steal horses with this nice guy? Update 13.08.2025 new pictures, new videos 15.07.2025 new videos Please note:. About Botas

What life with Botas looks like

Botas is a young adult german shepherd dog waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Botas, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Botas?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Botas on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Botas if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Botas already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Botas isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Botas and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
