Broche

Male · Adult · 5 years

Broche was already adopted as a puppy by Melampo and was able to grow up with Noah and Paris in a home. Now, the life of his previous family has changed: after the birth of a child, unfortunately, there was no time for the three dogs, so they had to be returned to Melampo. For Broche, the move to the animal shelter was initially very stressful. Like many dogs accustomed to a home, he did not understand at first why he was suddenly there. Despite this, he has maintained his loving and friendly personality. Broche is a very people-oriented and affectionate dog. He enjoys the closeness to his trusted people and looks forward to affection and cuddles. He also shows social, friendly, and playful behavior with other dogs. He goes along problemlessly in the large group of dogs with male and female dogs during walks. Currently, Broche has a bit of extra weight and also has sensitive paw pads or complaints about the dewclaws. Probably, he has been getting little movement recently. With regular walks, adjusted exercise, and a healthy daily routine, this will surely make progress soon. Broche runs well on a leash and travels calmly and relaxed in the car. At the vet, Broche tested negative for Mediterranean diseases. For Broche, we wish to find a loving home where he can once again belong, where he gets enough exercise, and where he receives the attention he so values. Whoever is looking for a gentle, loyal, and compatible dog will find a wonderful companion in Broche. This animal was surrendered to the shelter.

DE·Show original

About Broche

What life with Broche looks like

Broche is a adult dog waiting at Melampo in Melampo.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Broche, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Broche?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Melampo handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Broche on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Broche if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Melampo will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Broche already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Broche isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Melampo early rather than rehoming privately; they know Broche and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
