Buddy
Bichon Frisé · Male · Senior · 10 years
Buddy is a lovely older lad, looking for a family who would be willing to take on both him and his brother Buster. They are a bonded pair who love to play together and then snuggle up in the same bed. He is a curious and confident little fella who has been enjoying all the cuddles and attention on offer here at the centre. Although he is friendly with other dogs he has met here at the centre, he can get a little over amorous at times so will need to be the only dog at home, along with Buster of course! Buddy knows a few basic training commands already and is happy to travel in the car so would love a new family who could take him along on trips out. Buddy is looking for a home to share with his brother Buster, where they can be the only pets in the home. They can live with children of primary school age. They will need somebody at home most of the day to help them settle and ensure that their leaving hours are built up gradually so that they don't become destructive. Once settled, and after a little house training refresher, they could be left for around 3-4 hours. Buddy has a mild collapsed trachea. At present, this does not cause him any significant problems and does not require any treatment. However, adopters should be aware that long term management will be required, such as maintaining a healthy weight, using a harness instead of a collar, and monitoring for any changes in breathing or coughing. Regular veterinary check-ups are recommended to ensure his condition remains well managed.
