Foxglove

Bichon Frisé · Female · Adult · 8 years

I’d like a home filled with love and kindness! I need a doggy friend in my new home. I haven’t met cats so I’m unsure. I'd like a secure garden to potter around in. I haven't tried walks yet, a secure garden will be fine for now. Please be patient with me, I haven’t lived in a home before I have some dermatitis on my stomach & I have had 6 teeth removed. 27-10-26 Foxglove is a really happy girl with the waggiest tail, who has come into our care from a breeder in search of a new start. She is a very sweet girl who will approach us and offer little kisses on our hands, although she can lose her confidence quite quickly. Foxglove is also inquisitive and seems happy to make herself comfortable around the other dogs, which is lovely to see. Foxglove gets on wonderfully with her kennel friends and relies on their company for comfort, so she will need a kind resident dog in her new home to help guide her and give her the reassurance she needs as she settles in and finds her paws. As Foxglove has never lived in a home before, she will need to learn all about house training, lead training and the other basics of home life. Her new family will need to give her time, patience and encouragement as she gets used to her new surroundings. Foxglove has arrived with some dermatitis on her stomach, which our vets will monitor and treat as needed. She also has irritated eyes, which appear to be due to a lack of grooming. We hope that a trip to the groomer will help prevent her facial hair from continuing to bother her and make her more comfortable. She has had 6 teeth extracted at the time of her spay. Foxglove is a lovely, cheerful girl who is already showing us little glimpses of her affectionate nature. We hope that with the support of a kind canine companion and a loving, patient family, she will gradually grow in confidence and let her happy little personality shine. Foxglove has been given the Gift of Life by Clare Louise Oakes Through the generosity of a Gift of Life sponsor, this dog was able to leave behind an uncertain future in Ireland and find safety and care at Many Tears. Every sponsorship helps us rescue and save more dogs in desperate need. If you would like to become part of a rescue story, please consider donating to our Gift of Life fund. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Foxglove

What life with Foxglove looks like

Foxglove is an adult bichon frisé dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Foxglove, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Foxglove?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Foxglove on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Foxglove if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Foxglove already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Foxglove isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Foxglove and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
