Energetic puppy shelter Casanova is seeking a dog home. Casanova is a feisty and lively junior. Getting to know new people can be challenging for Casanova, but with the support of familiar faces, he relaxes and is very happy, especially about naps. While he has some training in agility and independence, there is still much to learn. Casanova’s ability to focus can be a challenge, and the environment outside can be overwhelming for a young pup, especially with other dogs and bicycles causing his energy to spike. At HESY, Casanova has practiced calming down, as being in the right mindset, he is cooperative and eager to learn new things. The new home should continue practicing calming exercises and be committed to building a balanced relationship. Specific routines help Casanova to calm down. Casanova’s new home should ideally be in a quiet residential area, such as a row house, duplex, or single-family home, in a peaceful neighborhood with as few environmental triggers as possible. Casanova will not be going to an apartment. A similarly sized, gentle, and older dog could be an ideal role model for Casanova. Also, living alone suits a dog companion better. A family with very young children is not the best fit for Casanova, as he has a lot of energy and could accidentally knock down small children when he gets excited. Casanova needs a lot of time, support, and proper training when settling into a home. The home should also be committed to dog-friendly and positive training, especially with regard to the breed.
