Adopt Cashero

Female · Young · 2 years

Hello! My name is Cashero, a sweet, sensitive dog of 2 years. I've been staying at DOA for a while now because my previous owner could no longer handle taking care of me. New environments and situations can be exciting, so I had to get used to life at DOA during the first period. Luckily, they gave me the time I needed, and I started to open up more. I would often seek out my caregivers for cuddles, went for walks with volunteers, and made friends on the playfield. It became clear that I'm absolutely in love with other dogs. I really thrive when we run and play together. That's why I would also love to live with another dog. I'm quite insecure on my own, but with a companion by my side, I'm a bit braver. With strangers, I'm initially more reserved and don't rush over to greet you. With a bit of patience, I'll come out of my shell and snuggle up on your lap. I often need a bit more time with men than with women, but even then, I eventually open up! Are you looking for a sweet, soft, slightly insecure, playful, and cuddly dog? If so, fill out the adoption form quickly, and hopefully, we'll meet soon!

Hallo!

About Cashero

What life with Cashero looks like

Cashero is a young adult dog waiting at DOA Dierenasiel Amsterdam in Amsterdam.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cashero, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cashero?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. DOA Dierenasiel Amsterdam handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cashero on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cashero if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — DOA Dierenasiel Amsterdam will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cashero already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cashero isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with DOA Dierenasiel Amsterdam early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cashero and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
