Adopt Cata

Belgian Malinois · Female

Origin: Ubeda (Andalusia) Location: Ubeda (Andalusia) Size / Weight: approx. 61 cm at the shoulder, approx. 30 kg Other: neutered, microchipped with EU passport, vaccinated and tested for Mediterranean diseases Character: nice, friendly, active, compatible with other dogs New home: empathy, time, no expectations, knowledge of dogs, garden Adoption fee: 490 euros including transport costs to Germany Our Cata is a beautiful Malinois female dog that was surrendered from an animal shelter in Úbeda/Andalusia. And this is how Cata is described by our caretakers in Spain: Cata is an exceptional Malinois female dog who, like so many others, fell victim to human trends. Cata was seized along with several other purebred dogs and brought to the animal shelter. As a true representative of her breed, she is a dog of boundless vitality, extremely active and incredibly intelligent. With proper training, this breed develops a special bond with their humans; they learn quickly, are loyal and faithful companions. She is currently living with Milan, another Malinois. Both are quite shy in the kennel because the space is simply too small. Therefore, she loves playing outside the kennel with other dogs, with whom she gets along very well. Cata needs exercise and a high level of daily physical and mental stimulation. For this reason, she needs a family that can offer the active lifestyle she longs for, the time she deserves to develop her wonderful potential, and an environment with sufficient space for her to thrive. Anyone who knows Malinois knows the typical character traits. Therefore, we are looking for a home with experience, patience, and knowledge of dogs. People who can gently and securely introduce Cata to new things. People who understand that a dog of this breed needs stimulation, but first and foremost a secure base. Too much stimulation or activity will quickly 'overexcite' her, and without the necessary guidance, she will then have difficulty relaxing again. However, someone who shows her step by step how to find calm and manage life calmly will find in Cata a great, loyal companion. Cata will be fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, dewormed, and tested for Mediterranean diseases before your travel arrangements. Cata is ready to learn a lot with the right people by her side. Who will give her this chance? Since our dogs arrive from Spain in Northern Bavaria, we ask you to check before making an inquiry whether pickup is possible for you in Northern Bavaria. The behavior and character description of the dog is based on observations by the local shelter staff and refers exclusively to local conditions. This animal can be anxious in unfamiliar situations.

About Cata

What life with Cata looks like

Cata is a adult belgian malinois dog waiting at Franz von Assisi Hundenothilfe e.V. (Hunde ohne Lobby) in Vilseck.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cata, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cata?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Franz von Assisi Hundenothilfe e.V. (Hunde ohne Lobby) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cata on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cata if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Franz von Assisi Hundenothilfe e.V. (Hunde ohne Lobby) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cata already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cata isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Franz von Assisi Hundenothilfe e.V. (Hunde ohne Lobby) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cata and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
