Charlotte

Scottish Fold · Unknown · Young · 1 year

Charlotte is a beautiful Scottish Fold cat, but like many of her breed, she is a "qualified" cat. She is at risk for osteochondrodysplasia (OCD), a genetic condition that can cause pain and mobility issues. This can result in increased veterinary costs. Prospective owners should be aware of this responsibility and be prepared to provide Charlotte with the best possible medical care if needed. Charlotte knows exactly what she wants. She has her own strong will and is not afraid to express her desires. At the same time, she is an open-minded cat who enjoys her humans' attention - and will confidently demand it if necessary. However, she does not get along well with other cats. Therefore, we are looking for a home for her as a single princess, where she can enjoy the undivided attention of her humans. Her new owners should therefore have enough time for her and enjoy spending time with her. We would like Charlotte to have an indoor living situation with a secure balcony where she can safely enjoy fresh air and observe her surroundings. Since she has long hair, regular brushing is also part of her needs. Her future owners should be willing to take the time for grooming her hair to keep it healthy and free of tangles. Charlotte is looking for people who appreciate her confident nature, give her enough attention, and at the same time respect that she has her own mind. Do you think you are the right person for Charlotte or would you like to get to know her better? Then contact the shelter.

Charlotte weiß genau, was sie möchte. About Charlotte

What life with Charlotte looks like

Charlotte is a young adult scottish fold cat waiting at Tierschutzverein für Tirol in Innsbruck.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Charlotte, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Charlotte?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein für Tirol handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Charlotte on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Charlotte if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein für Tirol will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Charlotte already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Charlotte isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein für Tirol early rather than rehoming privately; they know Charlotte and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
