Chipo

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Chipo has found a home! His story: Chipo means gift, and exactly that is what the male dog wants to be for his new family. He currently lives in the public shelter in Romania, which is hard for such a needy, people-oriented dog. Despite all the efforts of the staff, Chipo longs for his own home with his own people who will care for and love him. Chipo is a ca. 6-year-old, ca. 52 cm tall male dog with a particularly beautiful black-and-white coat pattern. His black head with its dark eyes stands out especially. He is very open and friendly towards people and enjoys every affection. He behaves calmly and composedly. With his fellow animals, Chipo also shows a very compatible side. It can be assumed that Chipo is not yet familiar with life in a house. Leash walking and house cleanliness are just as unfamiliar to him as the behavior rules for a well-behaved house dog. But we are sure that Chipo will learn the whole dog 1×1 quickly if he is trained patiently and lovingly. We wish adopters for him who will take him in lovingly and patiently, offer him a sense of family, a warm dog bed, and beautiful walks. After the adjustment period, we would recommend a visit to a positively working dog training class, where Chipo can train together with his new family and gain positive experiences. The handsome Chipo travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He has an EU pet passport and would also be happy to go to a foster home. Many thanks to Micha Z. for the great name and thus the chance for Chipo to have a new life! As of: 11.07.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 11.07.2024

About Chipo

What life with Chipo looks like

Chipo is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chipo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chipo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chipo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chipo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chipo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chipo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chipo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
