adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! Peace at last, Choffi…we are very sorry 🙁 Your story: 6765 Csengele, Hungary. Choffi traveled to Hungary with Mogli in July 2023 to a foster home. The two had spent approximately two years in the shelter in Baia Mare and were a perfect match. Choffi lives here with Mogli and three young male dogs in a large outdoor enclosure and shows such social friendliness within the group. Choffi is very people-oriented and seeks closeness and affection. She is a "cozy" female dog who loves to be cuddled with her very soft fur. She is not at all pushy, but rather goes about things with great care. She has a calm nature, but can also really get into it when playing and roughhousing with Mogli. It is a joy to watch the two playfully fight together. Choffi loves walks and runs beautifully on the leash. She enjoys the proximity to people but does not demand it. She is by nature calm and takes everything as it comes. In my eyes, she is a wonderful and pleasant family dog who is overjoyed with any affection. That is why we wish for her a new home where she has a family connection. With a well-fenced property in the countryside where she can move freely. Existing other dogs would not be a problem for her. She shows such social friendliness with all the dogs here. It would be wonderful if she could find a home where she can have a life with proximity to people and many walks and adventures. She has a shoulder height of 59 cm and a rather long coat. Upon request, Choffi can be visited at the foster home in Csengele. The foster home is happy to assist with overnight stays. Choffi is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and has an EU pet passport. She is available for adoption. Thank you to Romaine S.! You gave Choffi her name and an identity. Thank you, Pia B.! You support Choffi with a monthly sponsorship. Status: 07.08.

Vielen Dank an Romaine S.! Lieben Dank Pia B.! Du unterstützt Choffi mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft. Stand: 07.08.2024

About Choffi

What life with Choffi looks like

Choffi is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Choffi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Choffi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Choffi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Choffi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Choffi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Choffi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Choffi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
