Chris lived as a pup just outside the city. On one of the photos, his humble spot is still visible: without shelter, right next to the road. Yet, it was his place, which he initially tried to defend stoically when rescuer Matild wanted to take him in. Soon enough, he realized that they had his best interests at heart and that his life was about to take a positive turn. From that moment on, he immediately showed his beautiful character. Chris is an incredibly loving dog who adores being cuddled. Additionally, he enjoys playing with the other dogs in the shelter and visibly enjoys their company. He also plays with people and seeks their proximity. However, it's important to know that he sees chickens, and likely other birds, as prey. Perhaps there's a hunting dog in his background. By now, Chris has grown into a cheerful and enthusiastic dog who wants to enjoy life. His appearance also stands out: a shiny black coat with a white blaze and white front paws. He is missing a piece of his tail, though it's not known how that happened. He has grown into a beautiful, medium-sized dog and has been neutered and vaccinated. Chris has been in the shelter for a long time. That's why we heartily wish him a home. Of course, he will need time, peace, and guidance to adapt to life in a house. With the right support, he can develop into a fine and stable house dog. Update April 2026: In April 2026, our volunteers went to Romania, where they personally got to know Chris. Chris is a beautiful dog with a fine demeanor. During the visit, he showed that he has energy and immensely enjoys attention and sociability. He was not at all pushy; he simply stayed close in a quiet and interested manner. It also became clear that he loves cookies, which made the connection with him extra enjoyable. Chris made a friendly and balanced impression on our volunteers. Everything points to the fact that Chris is ready for his golden collar and a new chapter as a beloved house dog. Chris leefde als pup net buiten de stad. Op één van de foto’s is zijn armoedige plekje nog te zien: zonder beschutting, vlak naast de weg. Toch was het zijn plek, die hij in het begin nog stoer probeerde te verdedigen toen rescuer Matild hem wilde meenemen. Al snel begreep hij echter dat zij het goed met hem bedoelde en dat zijn leven een positieve wending zou krijgen. Vanaf dat moment liet hij meteen zijn mooie karakter zien. Chris is een ontzettend lieve hond die dol is op knuffelen. Daarnaast speelt hij graag met de andere honden in de shelter en geniet hij zichtbaar van hun gezelschap. Ook met mensen speelt hij graag en hij zoekt hun nabijheid op. Wel is het belangrijk om te weten dat hij kippen, en waarschijnlijk ook andere vogels, eerder als prooi ziet. Mogelijk zit er ergens een jachthond in zijn achtergrond. Inmiddels is Chris opgegroeid tot een vrolijke en enthousiaste hond die graag van het leven wil genieten. Daarbij valt ook zijn uiterlijk op: een glanzende zwarte vacht met een wit befje en witte voorpootjes. Hij mist een stukje van zijn staart, al is niet bekend hoe dat is gebeurd. Hij is uitgegroeid tot een mooie middelgrote hond en is gecastreerd en gevaccineerd. Chris verblijft inmiddels al langere tijd in de shelter. Juist daarom gunnen we hem zo van harte een eigen thuis. Uiteraard zal hij de tijd, rust en begeleiding nodig hebben om te wennen aan het leven in huis. Met de juiste ondersteuning kan hij zich ontwikkelen tot een fijne en stabiele huishond. Update april 2026: In april 2026 gingen onze vrijwilligers naar Roemenië, waar zij Chris persoonlijk hebben leren kennen. Chris is een mooie hond met een fijne uitstraling. Tijdens het bezoek liet hij zien dat hij energie heeft en enorm geniet van aandacht en gezelligheid. Daarbij was hij zeker niet opdringerig; hij bleef juist op een rustige en geïnteresseerde manier in de buurt. Ook bleek al snel dat hij dol is op koekjes, wat het contact met hem extra leuk maakte. Chris maakte een vriendelijke en evenwichtige indruk op onze vrijwilligers. Alles wijst erop dat Chris klaar is voor zijn gouden mand en een nieuw hoofdstuk als geliefde huishond. Wie geeft hem die kans?
