adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Coffie has found a new home! Her story: Coffie was allowed to travel to Zurich in her foster family at the end of September. From there, she is now searching for her forever home. Her name couldn't be more fitting, as the little Coffie looks like a running cappuccino with her brown and white fur. Her beautiful face with those loving brown button eyes melts every heart! Coffie is about 6 months old and just under 40 cm tall. She is curious, eager to learn, full of energy, and has a lot of love to give. She enjoys playing and learning, but also loves taking long midday naps and breaks to recharge her batteries. In new environments and facing new challenges, Coffie first observes, but warms up quickly. She is also a great companion at the restaurant, lying quietly beside the chair and observing after a few minutes. During encounters with other dogs (and people) outside, Coffie remains calm. She watches with great anticipation as others pass by. When visitors come home, it's clear that Coffie lives here and initially reacts skeptically. After a quick sniff, she realizes that the two-legged visitors are actually quite nice. Coffie is almost house-trained and gives signs when she needs to go outside and can already go on long walks. After that, she needs a long nap! Driving in the car still needs some practice, as Coffie reacts anxiously to a box in the car. Coffie shows great interest in the feline roommates but can hold back and doesn't chase them. Coffie has a very affectionate and calm nature and loves to cuddle. But she also has a big heart behind her large ears, and it will never be boring with her! With Coffie, you have an incredibly loyal companion with a heart in the right place ❤️ The cute Coffie is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with an EU pet passport for her new home. Many thanks to Julia M. for giving the sweet Coffie her name and thus a personal identity. As of: 10.08. This animal can be anxious in unfamiliar situations.

Stand: 10.08.2024

About Coffie

What life with Coffie looks like

Coffie is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Coffie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Coffie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Coffie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Coffie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Coffie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Coffie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Coffie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
