Cooper

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 11 years

Cooper for adoption - Cooper Location: Krakow Cooper is a calm senior who doesn't ask for much... just a home. Cooper is about 11 years old. He weighs about 11 kg. He came to our foundation after many years in a shelter, previously he was taken away from a collector. For a long time he lived in very bad conditions, in a place where there were simply too many dogs, too little care and too little space. Today that is all in the past - and although his story was not easy, Cooper does not carry the weight of those days. Today he is a completely different dog. Calm, quiet, good, loved... He is a companion who will not require marathons or great adventures. He walks peacefully on walks, at the side of a human. New situations make him a little uneasy, but it takes a moment and gentleness for him to feel safe. He feels best... at home. In his corner. Close to a human. He is not pushy - he will not demand attention all the time. He will just be next to you. And that "next to you" has something really special. He has a great appetite and does not be fussy about food (ideal companion). In the past he had pancreatitis, so a sensible diet and health checks are important. He also lacks some teeth, but it absolutely does not bother him in everyday life. He has no tail - it may have been from birth. Cooper moves a bit differently - his paws are uneven, slightly deformed, so he walks in small steps and sometimes stumbles. But you know what? It just adds to his charm. Cooper needs a quiet, safe place where no one will rush him. He is gentle, without a trace of aggression. He gets along with other dogs and accepts cats. He is not interested in toys or crazy chases. He is interested in peace, stability and above all a human. We are looking for a home for Cooper that will give him warmth and a sense of security in his "old age". Because Cooper does not need much. but he deserves the best. Cooper currently lives in a temporary home near Krakow. If you want to give this gentleman a home, fill out the adoption form. Dziś to zupełnie inny pies. Cooper potrzebuje spokojnego, bezpiecznego miejsca, gdzie nikt nie będzie go poganiał. Jest łagodny, bez cienia agresji. Dogaduje się z innymi psami i akceptuje koty.Nie interesują go zabawki ani szalone gonitwy. Interesuje go spokój, stabilność i przede wszystkim człowiek. About Cooper

What life with Cooper looks like

Cooper is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Psa Karmela in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cooper, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cooper?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Psa Karmela handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cooper on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cooper if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Psa Karmela will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cooper already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cooper isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Psa Karmela early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cooper and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
