Curry

Mixed Breed · Female

Curry - a character dog with a heart and great potential. Curry, born around 2018, is a female dog who initially needs to build trust with her humans to open up. But once this trust is gained, she reveals herself as a loyal companion with her own unique charm. Her friendly but independent nature makes her a character dog with whom you can have a lot of fun, as well as overcome challenges. Curry walks very well on a leash - after she has done her business - priorities or 😅? In interactions with male dogs, she remains calm and sets clear but fair boundaries in communication. Curry is not influenced by restless dogs, loud behavior from others, or the hustle and bustle of her kind. She remains calm and composed. In dog groups, Curry has never been the problem. She fits well into various situations and shows no aggression towards her companions. With familiar people, she is friendly, approachable, and willing to learn something new. She quickly calms down when she feels safe in her environment. It is important to find a good way to reach her and build a trusting human-dog relationship to overcome daily challenges together. For example, Curry shows conditional resource-related aggression, such as with chew items. Here, clear and patient guidance is required to manage her behavior. Like almost every dog, Curry likes to pursue her own interests and can clearly show when something does not suit her. Therefore, her willingness to cooperate is still developing. In terms of coat and ear care, Curry is a little "drama queen" and finds this extremely unpleasant. Loud noises like trucks or thunderstorms sometimes bother her. Here, she needs support to gain confidence and security. The car ride needs further training, as she occasionally gets sick. In summary, Curry is a friendly, independent female dog with great potential. With patience, clear leadership and a trusting human-dog relationship, she can become a wonderful companion. Her characteristics make her unique and interesting for people who are ready to accept her. We are looking for experienced, empathetic people who are ready to invest time and patience in her education. Whoever gives Curry this chance will be rewarded with a loyal and loving partner. Curry is vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. About Curry

What life with Curry looks like

Curry is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Brandenburg an der Havel in Brandenburg.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Curry, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Curry?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Brandenburg an der Havel handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Curry on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Curry if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Brandenburg an der Havel will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Curry already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Curry isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Brandenburg an der Havel early rather than rehoming privately; they know Curry and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
