Daisy

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel · Female · Adult · 4 years

Daisy is a lovely playful girl; she likes to play with her soft toys and have a game of fetch with you. She enjoys high value treats, and she knows a sit, down, and her recall is okay, but could do with continued practice. She can get overwhelmed easily and seeks reassurance from her trusted people. She is a clingy girl and will follow her foster carers from room to room. Daisy is affectionate and adores snuggling in close on the sofa and jumping on your lap. Out and about on her walks she prefers familiarity, she is busy when walking on her lead, keen to sniff all the smells in any and every direction. “Daisy is a bundle of joy.” (Her foster carers.) Daisy is a pretty little four-year-old Spaniel looking for a loving home. She is needing to find a home where she can live with another dog, a calm, confident dog to help her build confidence. She would benefit from having doggy pals when out and about. She is looking for a home without cats and has no history around small furries or livestock. Daisy could live with teenage children in the home. She is friendly with visitors to the home, although shy initially. Daisy is housetrained and will need a home with a garden. She is unsettled during car travel and would prefer a home where lovely walks are close to home. She dislikes being left alone and is seeking a home where her humans can give her constant company with a view to building up the time she is left alone very gradually. Daisy would best suit a quiet home environment; she is nervous of loud sounds and the hoover.

About Daisy

What life with Daisy looks like

Daisy is a small adult cavalier king charles spaniel dog waiting at Dogs Trust Ilfracombe in Ilfracombe.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Daisy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Daisy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Ilfracombe handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Daisy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Daisy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Ilfracombe will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Daisy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Daisy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Ilfracombe early rather than rehoming privately; they know Daisy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
