Dale

Male · Puppy · 4 months

Native Country: Hungary The most beloved Dale arrived on March 19, 2026, together with his brother Chip and the dachshund puppy Mogyi, through an animal rescuer to the animal shelter in Kecskemét. Nothing is known about their past, but we suspect they came from a breeder. Whether they were voluntarily surrendered or not, is beyond our knowledge. Unfortunately, the illegal dog trade still thrives. The three puppy siblings are now on the lookout for their people who will share their further life journey with them. We are crossing our fingers that they will soon be able to win their ticket to happiness. The trio does not have to be rehomed together. Dale and Chip have fortunately all done well and show themselves, despite everything, as playful, curious, agile, and friendly, ready for any mischief and nonsense, even though they can sometimes be impressed by new situations, but that is understandable, as they still have so much to learn and are only at the beginning of what will hopefully be a long and happy dog life. They are still very green and their new people should enjoy teaching them everything step by step what a puppy needs to know for its later life as a family dog. Similarly, new owners should be aware that puppy siblings bring a lot of joy but also a lot of work and responsibility, so they can develop into great companions. This duo certainly has all the prerequisites to become wonderful companions for their two-legged friends if given the opportunity to unfold within a defined framework and guided with love but clarity. They get along well with their fellow animals and love to play and frolic with them. For our charming brothers Dale and Chip, after a bumpy start in life, we hope that the sun will finally shine. We are looking for loving and adventure-loving people who can give the siblings everything they have not been allowed before: plenty of cuddles and snuggle hours, a warm, soft, and safe place to sleep, daily varied walks, age- and breed-appropriate mental stimulation, play, fun, security, care, love, enough quiet phases, and of course full family integration. Two lively whirlwinds are eagerly waiting for their people! Currently, they are still too young for a neutering, which must be done by the new owners once they are old enough. The estimated end size is 35-45cm and the end weight is 7-13kg. On April 3, 2026, Dale was 26cm and 2.5kg. The brothers can travel from around the end of May 2026 if they have found a home or foster home.

About Dale

What life with Dale looks like

Dale is a puppy/kitten dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dale, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dale?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dale on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dale if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dale already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dale isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dale and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
