Dallas

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

A male, approximately 8/2022, lovable - active - social in Spain Dallas is a male approximately 8/2022 born Podenco mix with a shoulder height of approximately 50 - 55 cm. Dallas was discovered as a puppy in September 2022 along with his siblings on the street and secured. A litter that was left to its fate due to lack of castration. Since then, the dear dog has been eagerly waiting for a loving adequate home and a cozy warm dog bed to live happily in security and well-being. The lovable and active dog is now looking for his final happiness, committed people who have a lot of time for him, challenge and promote him, teach him the dog multiplication table with calmness and patience, ideally combined with regular visits to the dog school and integrate him actively into their daily routine, where Dallas finally experiences the affection, love and care he has not had so far. With conspecifics of both sexes, Dallas is highly compatible. A present socially compatible confident conspecific, ideally at a similar age and similar size, to which he can orient himself, would be supportive and advantageous for him. A loving home is being sought for Dallas at active people who have a lot of time for him, as well as the desire and joy of joint activities with him and discover the world together with him, because he has probably not yet known much and is not a couch potato. A quiet rural home and environment would be desirable and ideal for him. Cats and/or small animals should not be present in his future home. Dallas is neutered, vaccinated, chipped and tested for Mediterranean diseases. He is located in an animal shelter in Andalusia/Spain. The deposit for Dallas is 580 euros. About Dallas

What life with Dallas looks like

Dallas is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. in Berlin.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dallas, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dallas?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dallas on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dallas if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dallas already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dallas isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dallas and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
