Dionisio

European Shorthair · Male · Young · 1 year

Hello, I am Dionisio, a young black-and-white tomcat from Spain, born around February 2025. My life began rather normally – until my sister Gertrudis and I lost our home. Our family could no longer properly take care of us, and so we ended up in a Perrera. There is a lack of peace, security, and love there. It was a tough time for both of us, but luckily, a kind human took us in, giving us the chance for a happy ending. I am a loving and gentle tomcat, even though I can be a bit shy at first. New situations still scare me, and I need some time to build trust. However, if you are patient with me, I will quickly recognize who has good intentions. For my future, I wish for a quiet home full of love and understanding. People who give me time to settle in and show me that life can be beautiful. I would love to travel with Gertrudis, but I am also happy with cat companionship in my new home. Upon arrival, I am already neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested negative for FiV and FelV. Who will show me the beautiful sides of life?

About Dionisio

What life with Dionisio looks like

Dionisio is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dionisio, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dionisio?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dionisio on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dionisio if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dionisio already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dionisio isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dionisio and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
