Drago

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Drago is a 12-year-old pit bull-type dog with a brown coat with white markings. He arrived at the shelter frightened and uncertain about his situation. Currently, he enjoys going for walks and has become calmer and more relaxed. It's important to note that Drago isn't a dog for everyone. He is selective about interacting with people, has favorite staff and volunteers, and is also selective about other animals. He can ignore some dogs and fight with others through the bars of his enclosure. We also need to mention that he is a strong dog. When curious or excited, he can pull on the leash. Despite these challenges, Drago is a fantastic dog with many fans who believe he deserves love and care. Will he find his forever home? Someone who will love and care for him? We hope so and are optimistic that it will happen soon. Due to his selectiveness and wariness, we do not recommend Drago for homes with young children or other pets. Drago is registered under number 13246/212/25. He has been vaccinated against rabies and infectious diseases, microchipped, and neutered. If you are interested in adopting Drago, please contact us by phone at 530-779-523 or 534-185-616.

PL·Show original

DRAGODrago to 12 letni psiak w typie pitbulla.

About Drago

What life with Drago looks like

Drago is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla zwierząt Włocławek in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Drago, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Drago?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla zwierząt Włocławek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Drago on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Drago if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla zwierząt Włocławek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Drago already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Drago isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla zwierząt Włocławek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Drago and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
