Adopt Drako

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 4 months

Drako is an Amstaff mix with a touch of Argentine Dogo, born around 2020. After long and systematic work with caregivers, he has made great progress and is finally ready to find his person. Drako is still cautious with strangers. He definitely connects more easily with women, while in relationships with men he needs more time, calmness and patience. However, once he trusts someone, he shows his other side - tenderness and loyalty towards a person. He is a dog with a typical TTB temperament. He is energetic, likes activity and releasing emotions on tires or trees. He loves tug-of-war and can behave like a big puppy. However, he does well on walks - he doesn't pull hard on the leash, willingly explores the area and really likes to cool off in water, especially in a river. Drako handles car rides well, which can make joint trips and activities easier. We are looking for a quiet, responsible home without other animals, as he does not tolerate dogs or cats. Due to his character, a home without children is also preferred. He will best find himself with experienced people with TTB dogs, who will be able to give him clear rules, time and patience needed to build a relationship. Drako has a huge potential and a lot of heart, but to see his gentle nature, you have to work for his trust first.

Drako to pies w typie amstaffa z domieszką doga argentyńskiego, urodzony ok. 2020. Po długiej i systematycznej pracy z opiekunami zrobił ogromne postępy i w końcu jest gotowy, by szukać swojego człowieka. Drako nadal bywa nieufny wobec obcych osób. Zdecydowanie łatwiej nawiązuje kontakt z kobietami, natomiast w relacji z mężczyznami potrzebuje więcej czasu, spokoju i cierpliwości.

About Drako

What life with Drako looks like

Drako is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku in Poland.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Drako, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Drako?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Drako on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Drako if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Drako already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Drako isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Drako and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
