Eddie

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Eddie's life changed overnight. The approximately 2-3 year old male belonged to the neighbor of our animal welfare worker Dorel. When his owner recently passed away, no one from the family wanted to take over the lovable dog. So Eddie was taken by Dorel into her shelter. But for Eddie, life there is a big adjustment. While many dogs in the shelter have never known anything else, Eddie once had a home and a person who belonged to him. It's all the harder for him to come to terms with everyday life behind bars. The approximately 55 cm male with his shiny black coat and funny ears that usually hang loosely on his head is a real people's friend. As soon as someone enters his kennel, his joy knows no bounds. Eddie jumps up, seeks every form of attention and tries with all his charm to convince the people to stay a little longer with him. You can clearly feel how much he misses the closeness and affection. Eddie is by no means just a cuddly dog. At his age, he brings a good portion of energy and enjoys exercise, activity and joint activities. He would be the ideal companion for people who like to spend time with their dog and want to provide him with both physical and mental stimulation. With other dogs, Eddie has shown himself to be uncomplicated and social so far. In the shelter there have been no problems in dealing with his fellow humans. For Eddie we wish people who help him process the loss of his previous life and show him that many beautiful years are ahead of him. He is looking for a home where he can be part of a family again, experience joint adventures and get the attention he currently craves so much. Eddie has lost his home - now all he needs is another chance with people who will never leave him behind again. After a positive preliminary check and against a deposit fee, Eddie can be castrated, chipped, vaccinated, dewormed, flea-free and travel to his new life with an EU pet passport. Many thanks to Monika V.. Thanks to you, Eddie has got an identity and can finally start looking for his home. Status: 24.06.2026

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Lieben Dank an Monika V.. Stand: 24.06.2026

About Eddie

What life with Eddie looks like

Eddie is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Eddie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Eddie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Eddie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Eddie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Eddie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Eddie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Eddie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
