Emma

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 7 years

Emma was found on a day that no one will ever forget: Alone, in the pouring rain on the street. We don’t know where she came from or what she experienced, but one thing is certain: Emma has not given up and has preserved her zest for life. Emma is approximately 5 to 7 years old, about 55 cm tall, and likely carries German Shorthaired Pointer genes within her. She is a female dog with energy, presence, and character, very active, movement-loving, and attentive. Walks, mental stimulation, and quality time with her people are essential for her. However, what Emma needs at least as much as exercise is closeness. She actively seeks contact with people, loves cuddles, affection, and the feeling of belonging. Emma is not a female dog for “in the meantime,” she wants to be part of the life, in the middle of it rather than just alongside. In the company of fellow animals, she currently gets along well with male dogs and female dogs. She is social, clear in communication, and enjoys being part of the pack as much as the exclusive time with her person. For Emma, we wish for a home with active people who enjoy movement and are also ready to give her the closeness and attention she so desperately craves. Whoever opens her heart gets a loyal, cuddly, and life-loving companion. Emma is waiting for people who not only see her but also truly let her in. If you want to know more about our lovely Emma, feel free to contact us and tell us a little about your living situation and how Emma would fit into it. Emma can hardly wait to finally become a part of a loving family. Emma is neutered, microchipped, regularly dewormed, and fully vaccinated. She will be ready for travel by April and is currently in a private foster home. Contact:. Gets along with other dogs.

Kontakt:

About Emma

What life with Emma looks like

Emma is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Pfotenhilfe Antalya in Ansbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Emma, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Emma?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pfotenhilfe Antalya handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Emma on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Emma if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pfotenhilfe Antalya will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Emma already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Emma isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pfotenhilfe Antalya early rather than rehoming privately; they know Emma and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
