Ever &#8211

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 6 months

Ever is seeking a Forever Home! Our little Princess Ever has been living at the small animal shelter of our friends from Puntanimals since July 2023. She was found as a four-month-old female dog by the roadside during a summer heatwave, close to dehydration, sad and disoriented. But it got much worse – upon arriving at the animal shelter, Ever was infected with Parvovirus, and our partners were very concerned about the life of this kind little foundling. But our brave warrior was hardly impressed by the deadly foe and recovered much faster than the experienced rescuers could have hoped for. Currently, Ever is 6 months old (as of September 2023) and is a bundle of energy and health. It is now clear that the relatively small female dog has Shepherd genes, and it is not far fetched to attribute her to the Belgian lineage. Ever is a highly intelligent, affectionate, and people-friendly Princess who always steps to the front when it comes to forming friendships, recommending herself to volunteers for walks, or checking out suspiciously formed pockets on her pants for any possible cookie stash. Our little backfish is looking for an active family, preferably with experience in raising Shepherds, athletic, adventure-seeking, well-versed in common ball sports, and with a comfortable sofa for relaxation after their joint training (in case of emergency, Ever would also be content with a comfortable dog bed, if it were filled with enough soft cushions and a personal stuffed toy – at least she has convincingly assured us of this!). Our Everybody’s Darling would also be well-suited for a household with four-legged friends, but Ever also gets along just fine with just her people and can meet her buddies on the lawn in her free time. The hazel-nut Praline is very focused on teamwork and learns at an impressive speed – if you are interested in Ever, you should have a creative streak that provides you with enough ideas when it rains in buckets outside, Ever wants to be challenged, and her muscles, just like her bright mind, should be trained. If you are already smitten, you should contact us immediately, as our Ever is eagerly looking forward to finally having a family of her own!

About Ever &#8211

What life with Ever &#8211 looks like

Ever &#8211 is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ever &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ever &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ever &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ever &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ever &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ever &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ever &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
